thats not how that type of psychosis is dealt with tho. i used to earnestly believe that I was a fictional character that I was fixated on and ive got put on medication for it to ground me in reality a bit but my therapist still allowed me to indulge in "being" that character (dressing like him, having his hobbies, etc) because its harmless and made me happy and encouraged a positive outlook on life in me. i still identify with that character despite knowing that im not really him. the same logic should be applied to trans people
