I'm going to tell you a secret. All curated media is propaganda.
Mainstream, social, any format. Doesn't matter. It's there to do one thing, tell you what to think about. Not what to think, but what to think about, what to tell your friends so they think about the same shit.
And yeah, it's fed a bunch of bullshit that people are buying. But social media exists, people have a chance to be exposed directly to others. That exposure isn't going well. It's either rants, flame wars, or echo chambers, where education, questions, and discourse, are frowned upon.
Also fox isn't the reason why I've got to waste hours a month on condescending seminars that basically make professional life a minefield, and why I've got to add stupid 3rd person pronouns to my title and emails. Even though i don't fucking care if you refer to me as he or him cause I'm not a part of those conversions.
Fox isn't the one telling me I've got to expose my kids to concepts before i believe they are ready even if only because there a bunch of shit they have to get through first, oh and they're kids, they should have time to do that shit before they start making life altering decisions about their self perception.
Add in the dogpiling about "teh patriarchy" and frankly, your problems drop very far down my list of priorities when I vote.
I don't hate you, even if i don't understand you. But I'm not fighting for the rights of people that couldn't give a fuck about mine.
