if you cannot imagine that being kind is compatible with your personality i am not sure there is much more for me to say, here. i am kind to people because it makes them feel good and i believe that it makes the world a better place and that, due to the finite nature of life, it is sort of our duty as people to make the experience as good as possible for everyone, all the time :) i also believe that there is some transcendental virtue to kindness (and "virtue" is not the right word for this but i don't know of any which would be better) that is beyond even just some Golden Rule or religious beliefs. that kindness is like a law of the universe or something. obviously the universe is indifferent and unfeeling but i dunno that's why i am not sure how to explain it.
