Funfact about smoking!

Smoking is only dangerous if you fall under one of two categories.

1. You have a lung or heart condition
2. You have a genetic predisposition to throat and or lung cancer.

Let me expand on the second point. Only about 20% of the population has a genetic predisposition to throat and or lung cancer. If you are part of that 20% smoking is going to dramatically accelerate the speed at which you get that kind of cancer. This 20% getting cancer is actually enough of a burden on the healthcare system that it is in the communist governments interest to demonize the entire concept of smoking for everyone.

Why not just let people screen to see if they are part of that 20%? Well unless you can afford to pay for it privately, you are poor and the government hates you and considers you a sub-human.

Had a girlfriend that would push me to smoke(tobacco) claiming that she looked weird smoking alone, then she left me and I kept the vice, met a guy in college that smoked a lot and we'd smoke together, it helped with hunger and kept me awake, after I finished college I quit smoking and I couldn't feel better, I tried a cigarette some time later and it was hideous, made me nauseous

Because young, pretty people like to party, and cigs taste good and feel good when you're partying. You're the only one thinking about 'looking cool' and whatever, we're just chilling.

lots of reasons. nihilism is on the rise and the youth are looking to cope with self harm in socially acceptable ways. also smoking unfortunately just looks badass, theres no way other way to say it. keeps you awake on long shifts, romanticism of craving death, lets you briefly socialize with strangers, warm thing to have in the winter, take your pick.
all that said smoking is fucking stupid and i wish it wasnt so deeply embedded into queer circles. hell i refuse to hang out with certain people anymore because i know i am going to smoke with them and restart the habit.
