Because most tall trannies are like 6'0"+, in which case only like 1% of women are that tall. Also being tall, especially that tall, makes people notice you more, and they are more likely to clock you. A 6'2" cis woman will get the occasional: "Is that a man?" comments just for her height, now imagine that scrutiny is placed on you when you're already kinda clocky, if not at the very least insecure.

Being more beautiful is actually subpar to human flourishing to just being able to blend in and not be hated.

To give perspective here as a 5'5" mtf, partly because of my height people assume I'm female and I don't get double-takes. Well, as far as passing for trans people every little thing adds up, but the outlier stuff like height catches people's attention in the first place. For me, and I think this is probably generally true, trans people would rather be unassuming than stunning but clocky. Like a lot of the mtf models I see I wouldn't trade places with.

Tall trans women don't have to worry about their physical safety as much. I'm 5'4" and very easily clockable and I've even had cis women pick on me (this doesn't mean that men ignore me). If I was taller people would at least leave me alone. Oh and also I feel like I wouldn't have been bullied as much when I was younger but I digress.

For me I stopped growing at 5´2¨ around age 14.
Family Dr kept lying to me for years throughout first puberty period saying I would grow ¨any year now¨ which never happened.

I was actually born with a separate deformity myself, beyond the height matter. Was born with a congenital defect preventing use of my left eye in any aesthetic let alone practical sense. I cannot open it fully, nor close it fully without conscious effort, and I cannot even use its motor neurons. I am only able to loosely see colors and rough shapes with it. I became a longtime spectacle for the eye surgeons at Wills Eye in Philadelphia - they coined it ¨third-nerve paulsy" and I will carry that for the remainder of my life as far as I can tell. I agree with you, and you are also correct in that people practically always noticed and made a point to ask pointedly about it. It didnt help that it makes it look like Im perpetually winking or ¨giving the evil eye¨ when I look at someone when I am definitely not, so part of growing my hair out was to try and hide said lame eye.

Philadelphia is certainly one of the ¨smallest¨ large cities in America, and historically it has been a medical center for many facets of study so this actually doesnt surprise me.

I'd like to be shorter to fit in. I'm not GIGANTIC but I'm taller than average and as a tranny you don't really want to stand out. Which is kinda the opposite than we are portrait in media lol
My country is taller on average, so 5'8 (which would be smaller than my mother) would be ideal
