I guess Leikoi used filters/inked over a photo? Or maybe a free-to-use CS/PS asset? I think it's fine for artists to adjust their quality/detail depending on the scale and flow of a scene, but comparing some of the more detailed backgrounds to the simpler ones, it does seem like they're using a fair number of pre-baked assets. Mind you, I don't really care because the boys are cute and the story is serviceable.

Yeah, it's very common for webtoon and similar businesses' contracted comics to use digital assets. The weekly multipage schedule just a higher output than most artists can manage. Punko is very fast, but Cinderella Boy is significantly more visually demanding than her earlier stuff etc.

It the same bullshit that leads people to wallow in helplessness with problems that a lawyer could solve because they literally just don't know that plaintiff's attorneys in most fields work on a percentage of recovery and not upfront payment. That's just one of the formats for romance type books. It's lame, but I much prefer it to the more recent trend of Corporate Memphis and similarly vague cartoonish covers that are misleading about the content, boring and extremely samey. At least putting some kind of realistic dude on a cover gives you potential eye candy and a bit of camp along with telling you the book is probably going to have sex in it.
