On the flip side, I think for women to say inviting men into their midst is dangerous is infantilizing women, which is the classic catch 22 of feminist rhetoric. Women are independent and deserve the same rights while being vulnerable and needing special protection. They are the jews of gender.
I would say the comparison serves a double purpose, as it also goes a way to explaining why they're so exclusionary to trannies and why trannies are so detestable to begin with. They want to keep the club exclusive; trannies don't care about equality at all, they just want in on the club.

being a terf is a strong signal of not being trans, but has a social cost. a large fraction of society does not like hate groups and doesn't want to be associated with people who are in them. it's not necessarily that they have a principled objection to hate groups, but it's just not pleasant to be around someone who makes hating other people a major focus of their life.
cis women don't want to be mistaken for trans women.
most attractive cis women are in no danger of this, so they don't need to use a special strategy to avoid it.
