Im with them, but the relationship is toxic and dead in the water. As I kinda woke up from dysphoria, I realized I was being treated poorly and all of the energy was flowing one day. Mmmhm. They're my top priority first. A huge part of my decision making algorithm focuses on getting better so I can be a better parent. Part of transitioning was recognizing that being an empty facsimile of a human didnt make for a good parent. I was "present", but not effective.
It warms my heart so much every time I pick them up from school or babysitters or family. They just shout "mommy mommy mommy" while just about tackling me off my feet and telling me all about their day.
Worst Im dealing with for helping them is my eldest's friend tried to kill himself in front of her. Walking her through a lot of very hard emotions about how its not her fault that someone else was having a hard time. Making sure she feels loved and heard and has a place to cry it out.
