Actually though the image that Bottomposter chose to use of this character was from a flashback arc where he literally is a child. But bottoms post these way more than tops do. Bottomposter originated this avatar. So this is a case of bottoms being pedophiles, not tops.

Nah, it wasn't just a chibi, it was a flashback to a scene of the character as a literal child. Out of context I would've assumed it was just a chibi, too. I discovered the comic because of bottomposter and when I actually got to the image he used, I thought it was a pretty weird choice. The character is an adult for most of the comic, there are hundreds of images of him as an adult, so it was odd for him to choose that one scene where the character is a kid

The AIsloppification of the avatar is a newer posting trend, but pre-AI, it was just constantly posting one image from the comic or photoshops of that image, like an avatar. It's a longass comic (and fairly boring, I couldn't be bothered to finish it) and there's like one very brief flashback scene to the character's childhood, and that's where he pulled the avatar image from. This is what the character looks like for most of the comic
