We are so cooked. Private insurance is definitely next on the chopping block.

What should the meta be now if you're a poor American tranny, have crippling dysphoria, and don't know when you'll be able to afford surgeries?

I have no useful skills, no country I'd want to flee to once it inevitably gets worse would take me in.

Is roping once it happens the best I can do to avoid suffering the beginning of the end?

another fun part is that trans broken arm syndrome means a visit for anything can have "gender dysphoria" added to the visit diagnosis list and they will deny coverage.
I already experienced this once when I had a UTI and they billed it as "gender dysphoria" and the insurance made me pay 100% because antibiotics aren't an approved treatment for that.

Transitioning is a luxury. If you’re poor with dysphoria, you need to prioritize your material needs. Get a job at any cost. Save for surgery. Build credit to finance surgery. Grind and hustle your ass off.

Why didn’t you have them resubmit the claim under the correct code?
Anonymous No.40782166 >>40782185 >>40782366 >>40783357
>>40782137
they said it was the correct code
they all think care for our post-op situation is gender dysphoria care instead of just the same urological or gynecological care everyone deserves. another interesting side effect is that easily curable stuff (like a UTI) can become nearly impossible to get care for. if you don't bluff the receptionist you probably won't even make it to the doctor ("we don't do that here goodbye")

That’s really infuriating
Anonymous No.40782204

no that's a problem you can solve with money
the infuriating thing is when you say something like "obviously i have a yeast infection i need diflucan" and they say something like "that can only happen to women i think you have a complication please dilate more and see if it helps otherwise go back to your surgeon 2000 miles away"

My parents pay for my hrt. I'm applying everywhere and no one's getting back to me.

I have a bad back so I can't do manual labor and my degree that I recently graduated with is useless at the undergraduate level.

Don't be a dumbass

I thought trannies are supposed to be smart? Especially with DIY and such?

You can easily get meds for UTIs somewhat cheaply if you know how to get it

Literally super easy to use one of those online on call doctors for 20 bucks and you just say "I have a UTI I need meds" and they will prescribe it for you

As for me I have a bunch of various meds of all types stocked from mail order Indian pharmacies just in case I need them

yes i can get them via various grey market or slightly-dishonest (pretending to be cis) methods but surely i'm allowed to complain about the denial of insurance coverage (WHICH I PAY FOR AND AM REQUIRED UNDER US LAW TO PURCHASE) and general denial of healthcare under the same terms as the rest of the world
also the internet doctors all use one of the big health record sharing systems and i'm in all of them and if they actually bother reading the record they'll learn and it's a coin toss if they don't cancel on me and a second coin toss if they are willing to prescribe under the circumstances
also like fortunately i'm fairly intelligent and can do my own doctoring but like certain tests are in fact nontrivial to perform at home.

In my experience examining claims I have that if gender dysphoria and transsexualism are excluded from coverage, then as long as either of those two DX are listed as secondary codes and the primary code is NOT related to them, then the coverage will be approved. Somebody's screwing up along the way

I mean a woman with a uti ought to be covered anyway so this is just an unintended way to screw us i guess
i am marked female everywhere and am post op so.. ofc i've also heard that since i'm amab i can't get utis. they don't even want to look after they make that decision.
OR they decide that since I had srs that must mean i have a uti and continue with that crap after testing shows it to be unfounded
it's so fucked i wish they'd just forget i ever had surgery and apply diagnostic criteria normally because 98% of the time that would work better

i was denied an HPV vaccine bc they said that men don't develop complications from it so they don't vaccinate for it

I'm gonna get a second job desu. Prolly try and build credit. I'm tired of being a hon and I see my youth slipping away. I'm gonna work my ass off for this shit. No one will take this away from me cause it will be my hard work that gets me there. Fuck America and their propensity to hate us fags, I will be happy in the end.

i had to argue for that. they literally approved it for men but when i asked i got made fun of for thinking i had a cervix. I never said that. it causes cancer all over do they not understand that or are they primed to think of trans women as delusional??

there's a number of papers like https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40155487/
i'd say we should get the vaccine and probably be screened at least when we have symptoms. but uh half of these papers report their patients dying and although they don't say it if the patient had anything similar to what i experience when i try to see someone because i have odd discharge down there (although i don't have cancer) i'm guessing they were ignored until it was far too late.
meanwhile "trans care" means telling us how we need a bunch of extra prostate checks-which are controversial for causing unnecessary treatment in men and that problem can only be worse in trans women who are probably at least an order of magnitude less likely to actually have cancer.

i fucking hate doctors.

i am pre op and have run into this as well for tons of completely non transition related stuff, i think they genuinely do just think we're delusional

You have been through so much thank fuck you're intelligent and educated but I hate that you have to be to get any kind of care whatsoever

I agree with what another anon said, anyone who can pass as cis should claim they're cis medically. I've been doing that for a decade

you guys are cute with your just now figuring out that all medical professionals are extremely biased and overworked. they'll take any excuse they can to stop dealing with anyone. if you live in a town with a lot of drug activity things get really funny.

I would go one step farther and posit that there is a reason there is a seeming medical consensus that trans are not susceptible to the same risks as biological women. Could it be because they are men, regardless of what butchery they have done to their bodies? I wouldn't say that they're delusional but I would say they've been lied to by unscrupulous "budget" surgical mutilators. There is a cash incentive to create lifelong sufferers that trans are willfully ignoring that most average doctors will not

A number of states have protections for gender affirming care written into law. You could consider moving to those states to start
