my office is really casual, it's a small company where we don't really have clients on site so it ends up being the kind of place where you can turn up in a t-shirt and jeans and nobody bats an eyelid. i'd like to start dressing a bit nicer though, i'm still figuring out how to make business casual work with my body type. sometimes i'll wear a skirt and a nice top, or a white shirt/blouse with a black vest.

I bought like 5 pairs of effortless pants when I was over in the states since we don’t have stores here. Love em.

Such a solid staple honestly! Love them cause they also have tall sizing

I’ve got a bunch of their dresses too

i work in the arts so it's more casual. usually a button down that's untucked and jeans, or a sleeveless top with pleated pants. something that's more androgynous. i'm stealth i just present dykey. my office is also always perma cold so i don't have an opportunity to wear something like a skirt or a dress.

is aritzia worth? it seems so pricey but my coworker always comes in totally decked out and looks great. i like her pants a lot

Yeah it’s pretty good, effortless pant is definitely worth grabbing, there blazers are decent too, I have a few other items like the bias cut satin maxi and old woolen mini skirts I have from a visit in like 2015 those are nice for casual wear with like some Stuart weitzman thigh boots in winter. Theory is also good for workwear but very expensive, you could get lucky on Depop though.

It is for me personally I find it’s just a safe pick. If your still on the fence only get one or two items then wait for their summer sale, which will have like the entire store discounted

I personally like having a very elevated clean look. I just think it gives off more management/executive vibes, and it helps me feel confident in office.

When I worked, I wore pencil skirts and blouses. I would deliberately flash my knickers to my boss and ask him if my bra was office appropriate.

I miss my job.

understandable.
I'm 30 and trooned at 23, when I was growing up girls were wearing skirts and dresses, then stopped, but I haven't really gotten over that envy and still wear dresses to the office...
no heels though cause i'm pretty tall and don't wanna look like a weirdo cos it's not that kind of office

i'm only 5'6" so i can more easily get away with heels...even with them most of the men are still taller than me

Casual skirts, t-shirts (half of them with company logo), company branded zip-up sweater, opaque tights (hate shaving).
I used to be blouse & pencil skirt type, but pandemic meant we dropped all pretenses of caring. That and the blouses and pencil skirts all fucking fall apart so easily (I guess partly because brickhon shaped, but legit the construction is often shit), while my casual wear lasts 5+ years even under abuse.
These days I struggle to even find business casual stuff I like I stores, because >>40811851 "zoomers find it cringe" and malls are all zoomer shit. I guess there's shopping online, but I'm the type who wants to try everything on and get the perfect size.

yeah the effortless pants are definitely on my list now, i'll buy a pair and see how i like it - i definitely need more pants. i feel like i tend to be pretty spartan with my wardrobe and wear my items to absolute rags before i replace, bc i'm definitely not making a lot of money and i'm saving for SRS
>>40811497
thanks for the rec on the summer sale - i'll keep an eye out for that. i've been to their stores in person and it's always sorority girls bouncing around and i just feel really put off and don't want to be there. ditto on the elevated clean look, that's something i've been moving more towards the older i get. i mostly wear the jeans/button down look bc that's almost the default uniform in my office, seems like all editors love to wear that combo.
