Just saw a recent similar controversy (WoW trailer) and all the comments are like "tranny tranny tranny"
Like that we wanted this rather than pooners, reppoons, and their chasers.

im saying the game has plenty of women who are in sexy stuff even when they are fighting. like aleria or zal'athath etc. the sunwell elf looks entirely normal lol. she doesn't look ugly she looks like a normal (elf) woman in armour. im sorry thats not sufficiently coomerbait for you but its a perfectly good design and the idea that women are masculine if they're not sufficiently naked is weird.

It's a fantasy game with fantasy aesthetics.
It's not recent. People liked the 2004 artwork, they started doing these changes masked in PC language from roughly 2011.

All artwork doesn't have to be realistic. You can have different aesthetics. It's Blizzard's game they can do what they want with it but it won't appeal to people who like certain aesthetics.
What's particularly frustrating about the Wow case is they changed the art direction. So the audience is people who want one style and it's having another style forced on it.
Like if suddenly some big Yaoi artist started removing men and drawing sexy ladies people would be upset with the artist but ultimately it's their choice.

im just confused because liadrin in the trailer just looks like a higher res more photorealistic version of her models in game as far as i can see. i don't think she does look ugly or masculine she literally just looks like a b'elf paladin, in the same style as the previous photorealistic trailers. i would understand (if disagree) if people were saying the issue is the photorealistic art style of these trailers, but thats not what people are saying. and they are as far as this thread would imply simply being upset that they personally do not find the blood elf paladin fuckable enough, in a trailer which also has very obviously sex feminine women in anyway

Also straight women don't like competition, thus prefer no pretty women in games. It's why anime that is for women tends to have more bland female characters or have the women removed entirely, i.e. Yaoi's popularity with straight women.

im howling at the 'fix' including her hairline being lowered under her circlet and making her lips less full. truly deranged. she looks like a normal elfy woman and her design is entirely fitting of someone who like a paladiny life of fighting and whatever. her new design entirely fit the overall vibe of the trailer and looks to me an accurate way to transfer her in game character (which uses a limited pool of blood elf models) to the more realistic style of the new trailer. if you compared Anduin's in game model to the WW trailer it would look similarly different. the only reason this is being latched on to is because you feel she should be sexier and less warrior looking, despite the fact her features look entirely like that of a female elf, especially compared to the male elf she is with in this very trailer. she literally does not look masculine and as i said before the internet has damaged your perception of what women look like

Cuckman is a dumb asshole but you should really play TLOU2. It's perhaps THE most authentic, if not the only accurate portrayal of what being transgender is like in a video game. I went in expecting it to be hot trash but did a hard 180 after experiencing Lev's story.

I switched over to belf in Cata desu so it took awhile but it still feels somewhat like a part of my identity. I think that's why people care about these sorts of changes, it's like they're being changed in a way they don't want to some extent. Still it's fine if Blizzard moves in a new artistic direction but it differs from the one I liked so much that I can't play it even if I force myself to.

It was pretty big a few of the old dust crew came from there too, the change is good but there is just the missing the past that I can’t get over. Yeah I changed main to a belf pally then, too bad horde on scryers was awful lol. I get it the, like the HD models that came in WOR for me I never liked even if they objectively were needed.

Anyways I think it's somewhat irrelevant. AI stuff has made it vastly easier to make MMOs and vastly better.

I.e. now anyone can do 3D modeling extremely easily, those models could be put out in a week(okay probably more like a few months given debugging). We also have access to LLM NPCs which are a cut above regular ones, at least for interaction. We may get some good new MMOs soon.
