Every once in a while I watch one but only films or something short. Like the most recent ones i've seen have been Cyberpunk Edge Runners, Your Name and A Silent Voice. Although I still re-watch Kikis Delivery Service and Spirited Away every once in a while.

Yeah honestly most modern anime is slop, and the ones that are good are usually still just inferior versions of some source material like a manga or novel. So I prefer to read these days, and lately a lot more chinese and korean comics than japanese because there's a lot more interesting stuff written there these days

Manhua and manhwa absolutely beats manga when it comes to modern releases for some genres like GL which is what I read the most (specially the age gap, dark or full of drama GL for some reason which also happens to be my favorite GL, manga for some reason has less of that stuff releasing nowadays, I know of some examples that I'm reading ofc but still most of the ones I found aren't manga) cry about it weeb

I already read pretty much all the good old stuff that fits my tastes so most of what I find now is likely to be from modern times yes, in which manhua and manhwa have been pumping out more stuff that I like, probably because their web-comic dominated market makes it easier to release more niche and/or controversial stuff that manga magazines would be lesd likely to publish.

Also GL is objectively the best and purest form of love, because moids are subhuman

Yeah I'd say they are a lot more likely to be very dedicated and obsessed with it than moids so while within random irl spaces the ones that watch anime are rarer, if you go to stuff like cons or fanart communities they are quite represented and take on more active roles. They are also more likely to be into the more niche stuff rather than the mainstream slop
