Sulvain and Raziol are recently reunited 'immortals.' I find Sulvain's situation to be pretty interesting: his body is 'dead' but does not decay. He does not control it intuitively as living beings do, but basically has to puppet himself using his necromancy. Upon catching up with Gold & Green, I must say I actually really liked it. The only characters that look the same are Piet and Levi; the others are fairly easy to tell apart, and the only imported character that is really straight is Tim. I honestly don’t understand why it has such a bad reputation around here. The writing is a lot better than the BL I usually read. The only thing I don’t understand is Levi’s purpose in the story.

I like how juvenile the teenage romance is portrayed. It’s not as if any of the characters are soulmates; their relationships are just youthful fun. Also, I’m pretty sure the author is a closeted shotacon (see pic).

My only problem with this comic is the slow pace of updates, compounded by long hiatuses. This is in turn the only reason why I'm not able to tell all the characters apart: I forget who is who between updates. If I could re-read the whole comic in a short amount of time, I would likely enjoy it just as much as you

In spite of my occasional complaining, I like this comic a lot, look forward to its updates, and agree with you on all counts. This is a good story and the art is breathtaking. The boys are cute and their feelings, relationships, and interactions feel sincere and authentic. I intend to buy the book version on my next trip to Germany

The trick, of course, is that a slow burn needs something else to animate its frame: usually some kind of actual plot or world-building happening in addition to characters sorting out their attraction and handling day-to-day chores. Webcomics are particularly unsuited for the premise if they don't have a real storyline because of their tendency to meander and fixate on drama that doesn't advance anything.

I don’t think to be honest has a love triangle, Gilbert has no feelings for Elias aside from sexual attraction. That sort of checks out: Bel Ombre literally translate as "fair shade", so as a place name it would fit a shaded place (maybe woodlands) in a warm country such as a former French colony in the Indian Ocean. The fact that everyone speaks English in the series also fits with those islands' subsequent British colony status

Everyone's white though, and the natural environment depicted in the series doesn't look very tropical, so maybe that's all the inspiration that the creators took from those islands
