Im sorry, thats a bit more of a topic than I can fairly get into right now, as I am exhausted. Many reasons, its pseudo-company when I am on the computer, an easy break from tedium. Its habit, and nostalgia. It used to be more of a discussion space before normies with phones found it, and so one didnt have to explain personal life details every five minutes in casual chat.
I am sorry that gaygen upsets you. It is not a good place for someone looking for healthy, genuine friendship, its just convenient banter, or at least it used to be before the trolls took over. They only live to spread their misery.
As before, I would miss you, but for your own good I would strongly encourage you to find a healthier place to loiter in your spare time online, or better still, apply the time to exploration and interaction out in real life, as I have advised many, most recently Marina. Decent people can be confused by this space, and hurt, literally, from it.

Oh I have been around. Sorry if I seem distant. I try to give people space when it seems they would be better with some breathing room. I can tire people quickly, Im sure you can imagine.
