There being both genders of trannies proves the legitimacy of it, actually, same with homosexuality. The idea is that these are innate traits (identity, sexual orientation) that, while having specific sexes associated them, have random variation. Only one sex being able to have variation in the same category would require a more complicated explanation, not less
