It took millions of true believers to make the Third Reich. Yeah Hitler was the unifying force, but he was just the guy who gave a movement someone to bind to. If Hitler had been assassinated in 1933 he would have become a martyr and Himmler or some other dick would have coopted the movement for his own purposes, to similar ends. We often personify political movements and project all the evil all the various members of thay movement onto the leader. In reality, it's a symptom of the social forces of a given nation. Did Hitler death kill nazism after the war? If no, then why do you think Hitler being killed before the war would have ended nazism?

Even if you feel some catharsis today you know that there are deranged people out there deriving enjoyment from the HD footage of him getting shot, and they are imagining themselves as the assassin, and they are imagining all the infamy they can get if they do the same
And there is no guarantee that their target is someone you consider valid
