It just makes me sad. It's a crushing and isolating realization. I really thought that people would start accepting me as a woman if I passed to strangers. But once people have an impression of you as a man, they see every masculine feature in you as very manly and ignore all the others.

they really do, yeah. sometimes if they really care about you they will try to gender you right, but you can always tell they don't really feel it. if your friends and family are in that category, i think it might be worth bearing it to keep the relationship, it's what mine are like. you're not going to make anything easier for yourself by completely isolating yourself. i get that it can be hard to bear though

not OP but when my mom misgenders me she will frequently remind me of one time when i was staying at a female friend's house and her mom tried to make me sleep in little mermaid sheets and i threw a fit bc i thought it was a trick and if i admitted to liking ariel the gender police would arrest me in the night, and be like, "how was i to know you're trans, you didn't want to sleep in those sheets that one time?" she doesn't remember any of the times i stole and wore her clothes and asked if i could be a girl (before i was shamed for it), but this, she remembers

they remember what they want to remember. mine pretends i was incredibly ungrateful for not coming out to her sooner, when she was sending me celebrity mkultra transvestigation videos. she completely "forgot" until i showed receipts that happened. you just roll your eyes and hold your tongue sometimes

They misgender me always and act weird when I ask them not to, and claim to he accepting of my "condition," but no they don't actually say "You're a mentally ill man," I'm inferring that

I'm in the U.S. I can probably meet other trans people if I make an effort, I just haven't. My only trans friends are online. Thanks.
