Ana is an identity for those who suffer from from body and/or gender dysphoria, and treat their dysphoria and reinforce and engage with their true identity, by engaging in various activities generally relating to exercise and moderate eating to reach their true potential and self.
>Isn't it just a mental disorder?
No, it's as valid as any other aspect of LGBT. Those of us pro-ana/pro-mia deserve to have our identity respected by both the LGBT and Medical community. There is no reason for why our dysphoria should be treated with scorn and lack of support.
>What can I do to help?
Spread the word that Ana is just as deserving as respect as any other identity, that ana deserves to be part of the pride flag and that ana deserves it's place in the LGBTQIA2S+ label. Support those in your life who identify as Ana with support and non-judgement, help buy them low calorie foods and provide them with good thinspo.
