A lot of gay lefty creators are stuffy, and have this "I'm too good for you" or "I don't have time for you" type of vibe to them. Completely arrogant, too big for their britches, such Jimmy Neutron sized brains they forget to be funny and personable.

As someone in the LGBT community, we need to do better at appealing to these people. Not by talking down to them. But by covering video games. But by talking about things like you're talking to a friend. Talking about issues other than politics, but not being afraid to say what you mean.

I hate Asmondgold the grifter, but I love Asmondgold the person. Because he will say anti-social things, he will talk about how people are self interested, and how things tend to follow certain patterns, what he calls "common sense". And he's not wrong, a lot of what he says is true.

Down to earth, eats cheap meals, doesn't dress fancy, loyal to his friends, and even sometimes merciful to his opponents. Everything he says is easy to digest, easily accessible.

And while he gets very roachy with his politics, outside of that, he has many likeable and personable features which I think adds to his broad appeal.

But I really don't see it as such. Theres something very honest about it, most people would attempt to cover up their lifestyle, or present themselves as pristine, but Asmon always presents himself exactly as he is. And I think that makes him humble, and more human. IN FACT, I think him being a filthy roach man, appeals to those "basement dwellers" but I don't personally believe its a bad thing.

He's powerful, because he can appeal to that crowd, theres nothing wrong with being at a lowpoint in your life, theres nothing wrong with wearing no frills. To simply come as you are.

Hasan I feel has also lost his way, and its really sad to see. And a lot of it I think comes down to his central personality flaw of being arrogant on stream and running his mouth. If Hasan could conduct himself with kindness, and poise, I think it would come off a lot more dignified.

Hasans success in the past, I think hurts him, because it inflates his ego. And the wonderful thing about someone like Asmondgold is that he doesn't tend to be as braggadocios.

I get what you're saying but the personality types between the left and the right are incompatible at a primal level. Right-wingers believe in strength as the ultimate virtue and leftists/liberals believe in kindness as the ultimate virtue. Someone that believes strength trumps kindness or that empathy is a form of weakness isn't going to be swayed by arguments about taking care of the needy or that someone's environment has a greater outcome on their fate rather than their own efforts because that's seen as coping for failure. Likewise, someone that prioritizes kindness and values equality isn't going to have the down-to-earth vibe since that type of outlook makes them more sensitive or disillusioned than the average normie. Guys like Asmongold are more funny and laid-back because they're in a position where they don't have to worry about being marginalized and they don't care if it affects other people because they got theirs. The belief in bootstraps is a self-justifying ideology for people that don't have to worry about their own material conditions and can justify to themselves why inequality exists without losing faith in the concept of fairness. By contrast, you see more vulnerable groups on the left because they've been made more aware about how unfair the system is and how different groups are fundamentally on uneven playing fields when it comes to outcomes in life. Any replies telling me that I'm a faggot for not advocating a rugged individualist view of the world are going to feed back into my point about chuds btw. I wish there were more down-to-earth or humble leftist creators but someone that's been educated or read theory is going to realize how fucked everything is and how stupid a lot of people are.
