Yes, although I focus on the upper part of the movement since I do it at the end of back day. My thighs are already too thick because of genetics so for legs I'm mostly just interested in athleticism/conditioning.
Big PRs depend a lot on the day though, the day I beat that PR I did 3 reps with 4 plates after like 4 sets with 3 and didn't even feel tired afterwards, then the following week I couldn't do a rep with 4 plates at all. Probably wasn't as well rested, but regardless the idea is not doing 1 rep every week anyway, that's not productive, so I'm doing like 4x10 with 3 plates and then test what I can max out with at the very end.
