Teto has been the most affected by the wave of "newgens" getting into Vocaloid recently, only possibly beaten by Neru fans. She's been around for well over a decade but didn't even get much of a new wave of popularity when she got her SynthV voicebank release. It was only when Mesmerizer released that a new generation of Teto fans started to pop up.
There has been a notable trend since of Teto fans getting younger and younger such that the majority of people I see are age 13-16, most of them learning about Teto through shortform content like memes or Tiktok or though Roblox instead of through music or anything else. All of this has lead the Teto fanbase to be increasingly childish and brainrotted, while older fans are pushed away and stay within more insular communities or otherwise just stop interacting with the newer fanbase.
In general, Teto fans are becoming increasingly annoying and ignorant, all the while still confident in spreading blatantly false information and just lying with undue confidence. There was the recent false leak of Teto coming to Fortnite, for example, which Twindrill themselves confirmed was not happening, but people were still saying that Twindrill apparently didn't know what they were talking about(???). People also continuously spread untrue information like saying "Teto is 15!", which is a one-off joke line from a song over a decade old that is directly contradicted by her official character bio. But most damning is that newgen fans just won't shut the FUCK up about bad memes and keep regurgitating the same "Pearto" and "fatass" memes over and over again instead of actually engaging with the character or music, or at least creating original shitposts.
