anyways, I mostly listen to indie rock, post-punk, shoegaze and other related genres. I also like certain types of EDM a lot, particularly breakcore/jungle/dnb (tranny moment, I know)

not to be annoying but i like experimental pop stuff like pc music, all the hip hop, alternative rock, jangle pop, experimental electronic stuff coming from the uk right now, new york crack rap, jazz fusion stuff, japanese punk, midwest emo, cloud rap, fiona apple, etc etc. i hate genres as a concept there’s no need to define all of these sounds, we’re in a renaissance of music and there will never be words for all of thousands of minutes of music uploaded a day

theres not a ton of it thats still actively sung but the most common ones are land of the silver birch and where the fraser river flows probably. my favourites are far from home and the banks of the similkameen. it is true though, a lot of it is about the settler life.
