Society should instill values and a government body that promotes compassion for each other and foreigners. While also recognizing the purpose and use case of medication in regulating scenarios such as schizophrenics unable to navigate life without hearing malicious voices or hallucinations that encourage destructive behavior, or in the treatment of BP episodes as to curtail extreme, uncontrollable events that they wish they could ground their emotions more closely to the typical population’s experience, or for unique cases of depression where the body on a mechanical level is unable to produce serotonin or dopamine on its own, therefore requiring the addition of medication in order to function more typically, or when assisting trans people battling gender dysphoria.
Medication is a tool, and in most cases is supposed to be a temporary solution until therapy helps create alternative solutions if they exist, and when they don’t, then medications serve as that long term solution for the patient who is struggling.
