I looked into buying a rural house with woodlands and such when I was buying a house but turns out everybody else in my country also wants a winter liveable house, 30 to 60 minute drive from a city where they work, not completely run down piece of shit and preferrably near water. I'm statistically well earning in my country but you certainly need a double income household to be able to afford that kind of lifestyle. So I bought a small house in a wooded park-esque suburb.
