It’s Marvel slop and it’s leading to the further degradation of writing

>dude writing 1500 pages per book means I'm a good writer

What has Sanderson ever done or said to make him seem pretentious? Dude is writing the novel equivalent of a sprawling homebrew D&D campaign and never seen a quote that suggests he thinks anything different. Nowhere close to peak literature but not pretending to be either.

Yeah I think his writing’s actually utilitarian to a fault. Anytime he describes Shallan’s comments as ‘clever’, I wince. He’s definitely not pretentious.
Maybe the reason the Dalinar and Szeth chapters are the best is they feel like the story is actually progressing

Chris Avellone is a much better writer, you'd be better off just playing classic CRPGs.

What did I think of this book? Well… how does one put it delicately? It possessed all the charm of an unwashed anus. In fact, I dare say the paper it’s printed on might serve better as toilet tissue than as a vessel for anything remotely resembling literary value.
