a signal of truth here that is not expressly given in language (where truth is increasingly obscured and hidden). we increasingly have to find truth in these non-explicit sources as we cannot trust surface level truths much any more (they are too easily manipulated by parties with agendas besides truth)

not sure about today.
my university, had a huge library. It was labeled a "federal repository", which meant it had extra stuff other college libraries didn't. The "stacks", as thy were called... contained volumes that were considered too valuable to loan out, and you had to be trusted that you know how to handle them. Of course, today? probably anything not "woke" goes in there.

>go to my library to look up church fathers
>library doesn't have a single compiled text from them
>in fact the entire Christian section is missing basic books on Christology or church histories
>the entire "Christian" section and nearly all of the religious section is books on "Jewishnes in Christianity" or "The Dead Sea Scrolls" or ""Hebrew Prayer and Worship Traditions" or "Jewish New Testament"
>literally 90% of the Christian section is just books of (((authors))) perverting Christianity

>go to libarian
>"Yeah I'm looking for these Greek and Latin authors on Christianity"
>she tells me I could look up the Hebrew instead

Honestly putting a single one of these pukes in your environment instantly spoils the whole thing. It's like a fat shitty stinky ass turd got put into the fish bowl and now the whole thing is opaque and radiating the stench of egoism

If only a younger Rowling had the good sense to put her own series in the restricted section, the world might have been spared the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the seriesโ€™ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but itโ€™s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though

"No!"

The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

I am assuming black magic books and I always found this odd considering its supposedly a good school with children as young as eleven wandering about
It's like having a book on building bombs in a middle school library just a little out of the way of the Harry Potter books.

Let me try to deduce what's the shitpost option in every row meant to be

>God Tier
Deal and Atlas, easy.

>High Tier
Getting tricky here, but I think I found it: the joke is putting 1984 above Brave New World.

>Middle Tier
Seems pretty self-explanatory.

>Low Tier
I haven't known many people who loved Karamazovs but hated Notes From Underground.

>Shit Tier
