Or a bad pussy? That gets entire chunks of episodes. I also never see it mentioned how books 4 and 5 are not adapted. Feast is nowhere to be seen nor is Dance. >>24463511Most incestuous are ironborns just off the fact that Euron used to sodomize his younger brothers Aeron and Urrigon every night. Not even Targshits were that degenerate. Do you agree with the Fat Man’s top 10 fantasy movies list?
10. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
9. Beauty and the Beast (1946)
8. Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)
7. Dark City (1998)
6. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
5. Dragonslayer (1981)
4. Ladyhawke (1985)
3. The Wizard of Oz (1939)
2. The Princess Bride (1987)
1. The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001~)

>>24462624Is it actually true? I find it hard to believe that a chick can walk totally naked across a kingdom in medieval times without getting raped by some random fucker at least once, even when there's a good lord in charge. The Starks got assblasted by Lannister plot armor early on and then once the narrative turns now it feels like they get glazed endlessly as the most wholesome pupper chungus doggos that ever lived.
>>24463567Ygritte only said that to manipulate Jon into dirtying his Stark seed with her filthy wildling genes.

I still can't believe Joffrey the Gentle is dead. He led the loyalists to victory during the Battle of Blackwater and brought the Reach back into the fold so that the good folk of King's Landing would no longer suffer from hunger. Like many glory-clad young kings in history he was slain too early. Poisoned by his enemies.
>>24461661True, her final betrayal will be for her love of BSC(Big Sothoryos Cock)
It will turn out that the new lover she picks up in Volantis is secretly trying to assassinate her. Like Tywin being slow-dosed with poison by the Dornish to avoid suspicion, the Volantene traitor will inject his balls with very small amounts of poison. Every time Dany takes a BSC creampie she gets poisoned a little more. Eventually the plot is revealed when Tyrion (now Cuckhand of the Queen) licks the cum out of her pussy post-coitus and detects the familiar flavor of the same poison that he once encountered at Illyrio's manse. Illyrio and Varys are now fully invested in a successful fAegon and would rather thr Dragon Queen die before ever crossing the Narrow Sea. This reveal leads to Dany first burning Pentos, guaranteeing her reputation when she lands in Westeros.
Or maybe not, after all everyone knows Targshits are rotten to the core to begin with. It is known from the Arbor to the Wall. Babies know it in their cribs and old men know it with their last breaths. Targshits are fags. It is known. It is known.

So much for so-called Northern "honor" when the Lord of Winterfell would happily seize any excuse to try and steal the throne from his own best friend's son and rightful heir. Eddard's treason helped open the way to King Joffrey the Gentle's evil uncles to try to stake their claim as well. The entire realm bled for what? So the direwolf of Stark could feast on the flesh of the innocent, as they did at the Red Wedding when the "Young Wolf" showed his true colors when he transformed into a monster and attacked his hosts? Thank the Seven that gallant Joffrey had his lord grandsire Tywin Lawgiver by his side to steer the young king through such dangerous straits.

I probably think about the series every day and I'll occasionally listen to some youtubers but it's definitely fading. I'm sure there will be more discussion when HotD or Dunk and Egg is back on tv. I actually have a show-universe theory that permeates into real life and why George hates Condal because it'll affect how Season 8 is interpreted that I want to write up, but I'm kind of sitting on it for now. I might write it up and post it here and maybe later on /r/asoiaf but I don't have the video editing skills to make a youtube video about it.

the world of ice and fire says that the in-universe commonly accepted origin of the ironborn is that they descend from first men that sailed to the islands thousands of years ago. maybe the children brought the hammer of water down and then they learned to sail when they were already in westeros. or they always knew how to sail but it just wasn't a big part of first men culture for whatever reason.
there is also another theory posited in the book that they descend from a group of people that came from the west of westeros (clearly retarded).
plus the full title the king has is "King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm" - it acknowledges that he is the ruler of the ironborn and their kingdom but does not acknowledge them as a distinct race. and that's because they're just first men with a unique culture separate from the main one in the north.

>With regard to horseback riding, Hodor, and the Water Gardens, I agree, I see the connection via Bran. Bran uses Hodor literally and metaphorically as a horse, taking control of his body and his mind. The Water Gardens mirrors the weirwood net, with the children mirroring the Children of the Forest, and Doran Martell mirroring Bloodraven. Doran's chair is made of ebony, Bloodraven's "chair" is made of weirwood, so the two men complement one another. ...

And then he turned his back on duty to rescue who he thought was Arya in ADWD and paid the price.
>>24468058oh man are you in for a treat? the fat man rarely writes things without context or meaning behind them, that is why its so fun to pickup clues in his works
imo, his books work on 3 levels, the actual story, some sort of historical context and modern world paralleling the story, and thirdly contexts and symbolisms in the story in itself, which is the moat fun aspect as a reader and thus lends more readability to asoiaf
for eg, the below, on paper, you have the story that jon is in danger, he is sticking to his vows, and bran saves him
there is an inworld historical context as in a queen (the kneeler admin, their rules and laws) visited that place and now a man is being asked to be killed because he lighted a fire against a cold night, a smaller version to kindling civilisation in a wild place
the third context is that grrm used to be a champion chess master in his time and acted as a referee for many competitions as a side gig
I think you are exactly right about Bran protecting Jon. Strange synchronicity, since I just had the same thought earlier today, after doing some research on the 'castling' manoeuvre :). If you think about it, the layout (without the pieces) of a chess board is a perfectly symmetrical square, so from the perspective of either player one may draw a line down the center of the board -- between the king and the queen -- which to my mind represents the Wall. That means everything to the left of that line is 'south' of the Wall; and everything to the right is 'north' of the Wall (fittingly, Queenscrown is located just south of the Wall, just like on the chessboard).
Recently, @LynnS pointed out the significance of Bran and Jon travelling in opposite directions to each other, with their trajectories crossing in real time at Queenscrown (we were trying to figure out the mechanics of the 'weirwood sapling dream' which is still infuriating us!) Anyway, applied to the chess board, Bran as rook starts out 'queenside' -- i.e. to the 'left' of that central line --cooped up in the furthest left corner representing Winterfell. I love your description of him as the caged and 'chained wolf', who is then released into the game, assuming increasing centrality in the action as he travels northwards -- i.e. towards the 'right' on the board -- and eventually becoming the 'winged wolf'!
>>24468114@Black Crow was 100% correct in his 'heresy' stating that the 'real game' would not be played in the South, but North towards the Wall. In fact, according to my analogy, the Wall represents the central position in the game! Jon, moving in the opposite direction to Bran, crosses over the Wall, leaving his 'rook' behind 'kingside' north of the Wall -- i.e. Ghost...yes, the direwolves are the rooks (reflected in how in some chess sets the rooks are represented as wolfskin-clad beserkers...i.e. skinchangers!) Because he is without his rook, Jon is now in an exposed position, meaning Bran the rook who started the game furthest away from him must now leap into action to cover for Jon.
If you read the passage in question, Jon actually thinks when he sees the direwolf that it's Ghost who has 'leapt over the Wall', when in actual fact it's Bran who has figuratively leapt over the wall of Queenscrown (by skinchanging Summer while his human body remains at the top of the tower). In 'chess terms' the rook has moved three spaces to the right coming to occupy the space formally occupied by the queen, which is a way of leaping over a wall too. Best of all, this in turn then allows the king to leap over the rook, coming to land on the opposite side to safety -- which is exactly what Bran-as-Summer-rook in his queenside castling manoeuvre facilitates for Jon, finally bringing him conclusively to safety on the adjacent square formerly occupied by the bishop (I guess 'bishops' could represent Castle Black...maybe because of their monastic lifestyle!)
I really liked these. While I agree with both that it is generally a defensive move, it actually can be extremely offensive as well (especially as the chess board gets less and less crowded), as usually it opens up the rook's path and makes it more central (not in that specific move, but in later moves). So, it opens up options for the rook as well as hiding the king.
It is also interesting because if Jon is the King and Bran is the rook, then he quite literally protected Jon while warging Summer in the wildling incident when they were in the Queenscrown.
Also, since the castling can be offensive and defensive at the same time by releasing powers of the rook, it would fit very nicely with Bran as the "chained wolf" that gets released into the north after getting to BR and passing Jon on the way.
>>24468124If you read the passage in question, Jon actually thinks when he sees the direwolf that it's Ghost who has 'leapt over the Wall', when in actual fact it's Bran who has figuratively leapt over the wall of Queenscrown (by skinchanging Summer while his human body remains at the top of the tower). Less obtuse, I think Bran has performed this type of move covering for Jon before. Remember Catelyn's curious and cruel comment to Jon at Bran's coma bedside, 'It should have been you, bastard.'
Note that Bran already resembles a bird --not only in the fall which was like taking a flight of sorts, but his body comes across to Jon as birdlike... i.e. a rook! And by falling from the First Keep (which @Frey family reunion has likened to the 'first king' or 'king' chess piece), Bran has symbolically fallen in the stead of the 'king'. In other words, he's taken the fall for Jon -- effectively allowing him to make his way north, while he remains behind at Winterfell.

>>24468910I always thought it was going to reveal that he got raped or prostituted himself to feed Dany as a kid because there is so much emphasis on underage prostitutes and fetishists trafficking white-haired children in the story, which would then pivot nicely to Dany going crazy because that's very humiliating to a princess
>>24468910He had a posthumous moment where he helped Dany figure out how to feed the dragos. He loved reading about them and would always talk to anyone who wanted to hear about them (another argument for the autism). The moment was cut out of the film for another moment of Dany flexing on how he didn't really know a thing
>>24468910>>24468943All the claims by Viserys about "Robert's assassins!" was bullshit promoted by Illyrio and his agents to keep Viserys and Daenerys paranoid and under his thumb.
Did Tyrion really spend an entire book to get to Meereen? I know it’s more “realistic” but this is probably the filler-est the series ever got.
>1 chapter of sulking with Illyrio
>3 chapters of hanging out with Griff and company
>1 chapter of cussing out Jorah when captured
>2 chapters on a ship to Meereen
>3 chapters as slaves and linking with the Second Sons
Most of that could have been off-page, especially the latter half.
And then in the Winds preview chapters, he’s still fucking talking with the Second Sons and idling his time. It takes two sample chapters, even though Brown Ben Plumm was pretty obviously game by the end of Dance.

According to George we haven’t seen any true wizards yet. He says Melisandre “just isn’t” an actual wizard when she was compared to Saruman in that one interview.
What does this mean? Does it mean that magic isn’t truly controllable or understandable? Or that everyone is closer to a dabbler?

>>24471152>Does it mean that magic isn’t truly controllable or understandable? Or that everyone is closer to a dabbler? Both, probably. True wizards were likely ancient ass green seers, or whoever ran the sorcerous infrastructure of Valyria, or whoever (or whatever) is responsible for the magic in-general.
It’s important to note that Gandalf wasn’t even human. He’s he equivalent of some alien sage sent down to guide lesser life.
He’s alien even to the alien elves (alien to men, not the planet), and he predates the planet itself, being around for its creation.
He’s numerous tiers above magicians of lesser capability. He’s like an AI overseer. Imparting casual understanding of nature.
If Jon comes back and is the same person, George is a hypocrite about the Gandalf situation. George insists that death needs to have a dramatic cost, and just doing some mind swap workaround would be a cop out of epic proportions.
>>24471246>Imparting casual understanding of nature.I like how Gandalf makes black powder to produce fireworks to entertain and make people happy, while Saruman goes on to make black powder for a destructive war. They’re polar opposites. It’s the same with Gandalf and Sauron - one (Gandalf) uses ignorance to enchant and inspire, while the other (Sauron) uses ignorance to form religion and dark cults. The black machines of Mordor are likened to black magic, or witchcraft, etc.
>>24471246Yeah it’s like if some conveniently human shaped alien came down in a meteor and said “I’m from the broken moon lost long ago. Dragons were a mistake. I’m here to educate!”, and everyone just accepts that they’re basically “wizards”, more or less.

So definitely above any ASOIAF characters.
Inhuman wizards are my favourite. Magic is meant to be alien, and this is why I love the Dark Crystal so much.
>>24471268>So definitely above any ASOIAF characters. As far as we’ve seen. I’m not convinced asoiaf isn’t an artificial world much like Tolkien’s world is. It’s just crueller, or left to its own devices. The powers-that-be are much more involved in Tolkien’s own creation, however less and less as time goes on. The primeval past of asoiaf may have been a truly alien one, or just totally unrecognizable, similar to middle-earth.
The planet was a playground for genetics or something. By something. They made abominations like wyrms and fish people and little tree people and big ape giants and tall thin men, etc. Humans (including all the weird ones like the tall men or the Ibbenese/Neanderthals) displaced all the rest, and stole their genetics, the way we did with Neanderthals. Valyrians stole the genetics of weird ass wyrms, which seem to be related to the fish people.

??? -> glass candle user pretending to be R’hllor -> red priest/sorcerer thinking it’s R’hllor -> peasants/onlookers thinking the red priest is legit -> hearsay spreads like wildfire -> religion propagates
Magic is a rickety ladder of ignorance. It’s clear that not everyone is standing on the same creaking step.
You can just as easily replace the glass candle user with a green seer, who sends dreams to dreamers, and who relay their dreams to others.
I just don’t know what lies beyond them. Who or what is the ‘???’.
>>24471598The red god fools his red priests the way they fool the masses, yeah. I find it weird how the red priests don’t think this. We’ve instances of red priests that admit to this.
>>24471598>>24471608This is all religion btw
Faith doesn’t require truth, and never has
The truth of all gods, all religion, would be a whole lot different
Religious fags don’t see it that way; they see their story as TRUE
Dany is so obviously set up to be a messiah figure that her heel turn will be all the more satisfying. GRRM literally has "3 wise men" showing up to witness the miraculous birth can't get more on the nose. Definitely not TPTWP, because all signs obviously point to her being it, even a guy like Aemon pointing it out, it's obviously Jon like the whole "Promise me Ned" linking towards that is something GRRM would do.
>>24461656 (OP)>that mercy chapter>Raff asks a fucking 11 year old girl to carry him to a healer>Arya has to drag him through the canals and dump himArya being so young really fucks the character. I was getting eggs at my buddies farm and their 11 and 3 year olds were showing me their favorite animals. The 11 year old was maybe 80 pounds soaking wet and 4 foot nothing. How this character become's a dangerous assassin is laughable.
George really should've put in a time jump, or aged up the characters by 7 years from the start.

>>24471883>Viserys isn't killed by Drogo>Drogo dies and Dany kills herself at the loss>Viserys is alone with three dragon eggs and no way to hatch them>He sells one for a fleet and sells an other for an army. They aren't a big fleet and army, but they are enough to get the ball rolling. The third egg is emergency money>Word spreads of the Exiled Targaryen prince sailing westward>He is intercepted by Barristan and Belwas who tell him to go to Pentos>He does so. There he might be introduced to fAegonWhat happens from here, I can't say since I don't know what Illyrio's plan with Viserys was in the first place.
Let's assume Illyrio's plan is for Viserys and fAegon to be dual conquerors. Maybe he'd try to convince Viserys to be a supporting uncle councillor to a king fAegon. I doubt it'd work and it'd just make Viserys a liability, so he'd get killed off, his ships and army and last dragon egg taken and given to fAegon.
>Robb marries Roslyn and thus isn't betrayed by Walder>Roose and Lady Dustin still scheme in the background, but have fewer opportunities nowLet's make it a bit more interesting
>In King's Landing, when Sansa thinks about plunging to her death and taking Joffre with her, she actually does it this time>Sansa's death is kept a secret, just like Arya's disappearance, but the Lannisters have zero hostages now>Cat still lets Jamie go because she doesn't know Sansa and Arya are both gone>Tyrion isn't accused of killing Joffrey, so he doesn't have a trial, thus doesn't discover Shae in Tywin's bed and so doesn't kill Tywin>At this point in time, Joffrey and Margery are not betrothed yet, so the Tyrells are still unaligned>Stannis still goes beyond the wall and stops Mance>Robb may use this to convince the Northern Lords that perhaps Stannis would make a good KingWhether the Northern Lords would get behind the idea, I can't say. Some would, some wouldn't, probably
Let's assume he manages to and steps down as king in the North in favour of supporting Stannis. Sannis comes south and joins his army, now they face Tywin together. A Baratheon and a Stark teaming up to depose a corrupted monarchy is powerful symbolism, which likely helps their cause.
When fAegon lands in the Stormlands, Stannis probably stays in the North and Riverlands with Robb, focusing on Tywin first
Tywin's reaction to fAegon landing would be really interesting. I don't see it outside of possibility that he'd try offering Cersei to marry him, only to have that shit get shut down immediately by Joncon.
Arianne and Margery both set out to marry fAegon and become queen. The rivalry of Reach and Dorne continuing ever more. But the dragon has three heads after all, so who's to say fAegon doesn't just marry them both. I doubt Doran and Mace would be happy about that though. In any case, fAegon's side will be really powerful, with the golden company, Viserys's army and Dorne/Reach or potentially both backing him.
For me, it was when Dany drank Shade of the Evening and got nostalgic about the taste of Khal Drogo's cum
>Dany raised the glass to her lips. The first sip tasted like ink and spoiled meat, foul, but when she swallowed it seemed to come to life within her. She could feel tendrils spreading through her chest, like fingers of fire coiling around her heart, and on her tongue was a taste like honey and anise and cream, like mother's milk and Drogo's seed, like red meat and hot blood and molten gold. It was all the tastes she had ever known, and none of them . . . and then the glass was empty.
>>24472231>There he might be introduced to fAegonThat reminds me, where was fAegon when Dany and Viserys were in Pentos in AGoT? And why couldn't the original plan be marrying Dany to fAegon right away? They all knew what kind of person Viserys was.
>>24472233half of dany's excerpts were written with gurms fat pink worm in hand, that's why her plot has hardly progressed in five books

>>24472238my theory is that faegon was a late addition because gurm regretted choosing dany over viserys at the beginning

>>24472231>"Robb may use this to convince the Northern Lords that perhaps Stannis would make a good King"maybe if Stannis also gtfos the ironniggers on his way down. that'd help a ton
>>24472238>>24472292The Doylist explanation is that FAegon didn't exist back then.
My headcanon is that Ilyrio and Varys never intended them to meet because they were using Viserys as a sort of kagemusha cum cannon-fodder. The plan was for Viserys to take all the heat from Robert by very conspicuously planning to retake the throne, invade Westeros as a conqueror at the head of a horde of brown savages and then when the realm was weak and in chaos from the war between him and the Baratheon dynasty FAegon would swoop in as a liberator at the head of a very Westerosi-coded army (that being the Golden Company). Obviously Khal Drogo and the dragons threw a wrench in those plans but I think the dynamic between Daenerys and FAegon will play out pretty much the same way except with FAegon arriving in Westeros before Daenerys does so the beloved saviour Aegon 2.0 gets obliterated by the Evil Dragon Witch and the way the realm will react will probably contribute to Dany going off the deep end.
>>24472262How many different ethnic groups have cum in her mouth by now?
>>24467887This is fine. Robert is a horny, crass, old drunk talking to his closest friend who he hasn't seen in years. It's not a situation where he'd be minding his etiquette. He also doesn't like Cersei. Even beyond Robert being a crude person, the demeanijg language makes sense.

>>24471829>Winds of winter was surely going to skip most of the several year long winterI'd suggest GRRM has essentially dropped the entire concept of the multi-years long winters/summers, which he thought was neato at first then realized this would make Planetos uninhabitable, not just for humans but pretty much all life.
>>24470768It's unironically ESLs who go from fight scene to fight scene with their eyes glazed over in between. They're like highschoolers who look up Sparknotes summaries so they can claim they read something. >>24472898Honestly I keep forgetting about the "years-long seasons" aspect of Planetos. It's the least interesting part of the world, yet it's included in all the early pitches.

I thought Sleeper Straddle was good.
>>24472898Since winter/summer isnt equally brutal at every latitude it would be reasonable to say that before agriculture existed, people just migrated a lot, spreading towards Planetos' poles when the weather grew mild and being driven back towards the equator when the bullshit hit
But this aspect of worldbuilding is never explored more than "oh winter is really important and these agricultural societies need to store food to survive" which is exactly the same as IRL winter
>>24472898He should just make it way less pronounced.
Like a couple year cold period
Honestly the issue isn't that winters and summers last multiple real-world years. The issue is them being inconsistent. That completely rapes nature's ability to adapt. Same with human civilization. Imagine stocking for winter and you just have to guess how many years of food you'll need? And if winter lasts longer than predicted it's not an extra 2-3 weeks of hunger, it's 2-3 years and your entire settlement dies.
Stop noticing things, chud. 17 years of winter.

>>24472932Yes, early on the climate is a big part of the story but later, it's essentially not mentioned at all.
>>24472959>>24472961It simply doesn't work; what do the rabbits and deer and such do when winter can be ten YEARS long (even if it "phases" in and out)? They die, as do the humans who in no fucking way could store up enough food to last.
Now this kinda climate would be doable on an alien planet with alien lifeforms but we're dealing with normal Earth animals.
