>>24462697not op, to me it was just bland and pointless, but it might be of interest to astronomy nerds who usually hate fiction
>>24462516 (OP)Awards have been meaningless for years
so, its fiction.
but, where Michael Crichton for instance, used aircraft manufacture as a canvas upon which to write "Airframe". She used astronomy nerd stuff, as her canvas to write... what genre of fiction over top of it, even is this.
>>24462516 (OP)The fact that it was written by a woman should’ve been a dead giveaway to steer clear.

i guess it cant be worse than present-day goncourt... maybe
>>24462939lol is she selling dildos?
>>24462936>so, its fiction.OP here. it's not fiction. it's a glorified poem without structure. best description for the book is "meditative ramblings". it's literally 200 pages of a basic bitch stargazing while using google earth. yeah, half the book she is just naming places the ISS is supposedly hovering above like she's some commercial airline stewardess. "and now we are above russia... now we are above australia." the book has no plot. i finally fell for an impulse buy and i wasted my time with this shit.
>Outside the earth reels away in a mass of moonglow, peeling backward as they forge towards its edgeless edge; the tufts of cloud across the Pacific brighten the nocturnal ocean to cobalt. Now there’s Santiago on South America’s approaching coast in a cloud- hazed burn of gold.
>>24463405idc abt plot but i hate reading those kind of description of scenery no matter who the author is, it's always pointless cuz no matter what they write it's like you can only visualize a mashup of postcards and screensavers
>>24462516 (OP)>because of awardsOh dear. Next you'll be buying books because of reviews.
The best solution is only to read dead authors, whose work has long survived them.
