>>24472876 (OP)It's always interesting to read one of these bogeyman books, to see what they actually contain. The media would have you believe just by reading this book you'll take a questionably obtained truck with a guy that never existed to your nearest federal building.
I think when people say bad writing they are talking about the diary entry format which is a shitty narrative crutch for writers, everything ends up being a list of remarks on events that occurred.
There's also alot of killing. Characters seem to be able to kill without it affecting them much, especially when they are killing people deemed as traitors. Honestly my main gripe with the book is that, everyone is hyper competent and autistic to the rules. The organisation just suddenly exists, no in-fighting, it's a totally efficient guerrilla fighting machine that suffers few setbacks and can operate nationwide. Unlikely.
Also the ending is really stupid, it should've ended after they got to California. Like the whole global nuclear war wouldn't destroy the world? And the main character being forced to suicide mission at the end because he gave up secrets earlier in the book due to being tortured for days on end. As if the organization is so autistic that they can't understand that people will inevitably break under torture. So stupid.
Overall it was an interesting read. A time capsule of boomer white nationalist thinking.
