How do we cope about with yearning for meaning in a cold and unresponsive world?

Coping with a yearning for meaning in a cold and unresponsive world is a deeply personal journey, but there are several approaches that many find helpful:

Cultivate Inner Purpose: Focus on activities and values that resonate with you personallyโ€”whether it's creative expression, helping others, learning, or spiritual practices. Finding fulfillment in small, meaningful acts can foster a sense of purpose.

Connect with Others: Building genuine relationships can provide a sense of belonging and mutual understanding. Shared experiences and community can help counter feelings of isolation.

Practice Mindfulness and Acceptance: Engage in mindfulness techniques to stay present and accept the world as it is, reducing frustration and fostering peace with uncertainty.

Create Your Own Meaning: Recognize that meaning is often self-generated. Set personal goals, pursue passions, and define what matters most to you rather than relying solely on external validation.

Seek Inspiration: Read philosophy, literature, or spiritual texts that explore human existence and resilience. Sometimes, understanding othersโ€™ perspectives can illuminate your own path.

Balance Engagement and Detachment: While it's natural to seek meaning, maintaining a healthy balance between engagement with the world and emotional boundaries can protect your well-being.

Embrace the Mystery: Accept that some aspects of existence are beyond understanding. Finding comfort in uncertainty can sometimes be more fulfilling than constant search for definitive answers.

Remember, many people grapple with these feelings, and itโ€™s okay to seek support from friends, mentors, or mental health professionals if needed. The quest for meaning is a universal part of human experience, and exploring it can itself be a meaningful journey.

Spoiler alert: the meaning of life is to glorify God.

Now you have fun searching on your own for the meaning to life, and if you actually love the truth and seek the truth, you'll see I'm right; but most of /lit/ is retarded and already loves to believe lies and hates the truth, so have fun being a bunch of depressed nerds.

Try accepting it as best as you can. Reading Cioran will make you feel like shit at first but the more you read the more you can accept it. Fucked up at you job? Doesn't matter in the end.
Lost money? Doesn't matter in the end.
Lost all friends? Doesn't matter in the end.
Family members die? Glad for some of them. They only lived because they didn't want to die. Kind of clinged onto this life because they were too scared. But after death comes the same as before. So try living with it.
Everything too fucked up because you "it is what it is"-ed too long? Wanting to suicide but enjoying the last 2h before doing it, because why not. Don't care about others feelings because you are going to commit suicide nh shit. 2h are up? Try enjoying the next 30min before doing it, because you have nothing to loose anyway. A cig might be helpful. 30min up? Enjoy the next 3h because fuck everything. Then repeat that shit until death comes upon you. Self inflicted or not.

Books that may prove this to me? I have only read something about theology in some side chapters or something in some books. I have read Russells "Why I am not christian", but to be honest 95% of it was an absolute disappointing shit. Expected better from someone with such a big name.
I have Spinozas ethics (didn't read yet. Seems too technical for someone as stupid as me) somewhere and the bible and shit. Is any of this good? Would be glad for some decent recommendations

What is the point of existential """philosophy"""? All it can do is sneak in meaning and hope you don't notice.

>Books that may prove this to me?
the Bible, retard
Here's the speedreading order. Start with Mark. Then read John for contrast - the Johannine gospel touches on events that arent in the synoptic gospels; for a beginner's purposes, Matthew and Luke are interchangeable with Mark. Third, read the epistle to the Romans (preferably with some kind of online guide to help you follow along with Pauls arguments - he's a very knowledgeable scholar). If youre not convinced of Christianity by then, just drop it and enjoy life. If you are, start all over with Genesis.
>why not read the Bible front to back?
The entire Old Testament points to Christ in two ways - by showing the failure of man, and by foreshadowing Christ theologically and prophetically. So it's best to get to the OT later and to start with the Jesus question, which is the central question of the Bible. Who was he, what did he die for, and what's the point?
>b-b-but I dont wanna read the Bible I want to be taught this from another perspective
if the Bible is the God-breathed Word then its the best place to learn why God is real and worthy of worship. There's great works of theology written by various scholars of various denominations, but they are in essence footnotes to the Jesus question.
>but what if God is worthy of worship but its not the Christian God
the Jesus question should settle this.

What do you mean by "meaning"?
What do you mean by "cold and unresponsive world"? You know what a warm and responsive world is like and this is contrary to it? How do you know?

Chaotic, seemingly lacking a purpose, unforgiving, indifferent

No but I don't need to see a world that communicates meaning to understand that this one does not.

I would say it's definitely wrong to say the world lacks unity, everything is subject to same universal constants.
It seems nonsensical to me to claim the world lacks purpose, that it's chaotic, unforgiving, indifferent. Why do you believe the world is something that has the capacity to communicate a purpose or be chaotic or orderly or forgiving or unforgiving or indifferent or caring?
Your use of "purpose" seems especially nonsensical to me as it's a use of the word applied only to this context. Usually when one refers to the purpose of a thing it's understood to be subjective to whatever makes use of it. When speaking of facets of nature the use of "purpose" loses coherence, a mountain could be said to have no purpose, it just is. Do you feel a need to cope about a mountain's lack of purpose? To the extent it could be said to have a purpose in its resources or as a place of recreation or as a pleasant object to observe does the framing of its existence as having a purpose satisfy you? Why?

>everything is subject to same universal constants
The same universal constants that we've determined from our limited purview, on a timeline consisting of ~1000 years in the 14.3 bn years that the universe has existed. The same universal constants that break down constantly near black holes. The world only has unity insofar as it hasn't randomly imploded in 14.3 bn years.
>It seems nonsensical to me to claim the world lacks purpose, ...
Maybe you're misunderstanding me. When I talk of purpose, I'm asking why I should get up in the morning. What I should be striving for. A mountain lacks an inherent purpose that we can observe but a mountain also lacks consciousness. Why do I possess the consciousness to become aware of the inherent absurdity behind the universe? Why is my consciousness not satisfied with mere existence? Why do I have this innate yearning for meaning in a world that has no such apparent thing to offer?

You just can't cope with the fact that you were indoctrinated to believe a lie but were never bright enough to question what you were indoctrinated by government schools and mass media to believe, so you get enraged.
>but the government and media would never lie to me, I trusted them!
lol

You could actually look into it honestly and seeking for the truth of the matter, but it's clear you're already unwilling to do that. It's always a moral issue at the end of the day, mankind is evil and proud and doesn't want to admit their evil nor humble themselves before God.

The stupid thing is God made it so easy to get saved, all you have to do is believe the record he gave of his Son, but you think you're smart for believing exactly what you're programmed to believe (after all, that is the brainwashing, they tell you it's the smart thing to believe; and you believe it on blind faith since it's not repeatable with the scientific method as it "takes too long"; and you want to appear smart, hence why you can't prove your beliefs and don't even attempt to prove them but just call others stupid for "heresy" against the state religion).

Honestly, talking to dimwits like you is just boring. You evolutinoists are one dimensional. Go drink your kool-aid, you might even evolve into a god one day, lol.

I can't deny your dissatisfaction but my questions were getting at what exactly you're expecting because feelings of dissatisfaction and disappointment are predicated on expectations. I asked why you do or don't feel a yearning for the innate meaning of a mountain, or the meaning of the planet Mars, or any other thing in the world. You seem to expect the world itself to have meaning and I don't understand what that means.
