Animals, being bodily creatures of instinct, already more or less perfectly instantiate the ideal of animalness. The only exception being caged animals and the like, where their basic activities are severely limited by circumstances.

The ideal of a circle is only ever the idea itself, since the circle's ultimate essence is as an idea. Not so for animals, who have as their essence a changeable bodily nature.
