I liked Dance the most because it actually names the sources which was fun. Figuring out all their biases and thrn filtering those through the writer's bias. It makes Dance worth revisiting while something like the Conquest was kinda boring to read. If you watch a summary of the Conquest on Youtube, you won't miss anything which I think is an indication of a boring book.

Then I liked Maegor because it felt like a more traditional story so you get more out of it.

i am rereading the jon beyond the wall arc and the wildling logistics makes zero sense to me

1. they pass many empty villages on the way to craster, one empty village, whitetree, has 4 households in total

2. there are no noteable wildling settlements mentioned ever in asoiaf except hardhome which was apparently on the way to becoming the only city north of the wall

3. the wildling settlement that bran and company pass on the way to the cave mentions a longhall around a frozen lake - the dimensions are not mentioned so maybe this may be one of the larger wildling settlements
