What would John Milton think if he saw that the mainstream perception of Lucifer is that of an anti-hero; defender of indiviual liberty; protector of the downtrodden; and diddunuttin.
Was Paradise Lost a mistake?

>mainstream
Don’t mistake loud retards on twitter for the mainstream. The majority of humans currently living are monotheistic of some
Abrahamic variety - meaning the “mainstream” perception of Lucifer is as an entity of unimaginable evil and malice who committed such sin as we are not even able to approach as mere mortals. Alan Watts writes about this in Myth and Ritual.
Ignore edgy cunts and whatever shit the plebs are fed by their masters.

By mainstream I was more refferring to the secular West's mainstream. Of course Christians and Muslims, who make up a large percentage of the population, understand Satan is evil. But mainstream entertainment doesn't reflect these mainstream religious views. For example, you had that fucking cartoon that came out marketed towards young adults which pushed the narrative that Lucifer is an anti-hero, and a lot of people are influenced by the Masonic ideals of Lucifier, which built upon ideas put forward by Milton, through the entertainment they consoom, whether they're aware of it or not. Culture, in the Western world at least, is extremely secular, and The Church of Satan speaks to these secular leftists more than Christianity.

This is ridiculous. None of these cringelord Satanists have anything to do with Milton
Miltonic Satan has the highest culture behind it, Shelley, Baudelaire, Blake—Blake was actually a very severe Christian (traplarpers seethe). Baudelaire used this term, in the Miltonic sense, to describe Wagner’s music.
Anyone who read PL and thinks Milton’s God is a successful representation is a Zionist who worships Satan when he think he worships God
Blake said Milton appeared to him and told his error
Miltonic Satanism is good and has nothing to do with liberal atheists and blasphemers

But that was the point of Paradise Lost. Also, Lucifer isn't a bad guy; he just rejects God's divine plan. And from what I've seen of God's divine plan, I reject it too. Too much smiting for minor offenses, like burning incense in the tabernacle at the wrong time.

I must confess it's years since I offered the thighs, fat and inwards of a sacrificial bullock to the Almighty. The poor bastard is probably starving by now.
(It's convenient how God prefers the inedible parts of a sacrificial animal, isn't it? Burgers for everybody!)

Who cares? I don't remember asking "John Milton" a fucking thing. And this "Lucifer"? He can get in line to slob on my knob for all I care. Praise be to Jesus Christ.

I think you're investing a bit too much the question, there's no perception of Lucifer. He is nothing but a vague name with a distant corpus for these people and mainstream entertainment. There's no ideology, no system behind this. It's funny to take a Christian evil character and make him good. That's all.

The Point of Paradise Lost is that Satan is a manipulator that will justify his evil actions as means to get people on his side.
