morals and vices are all pieces of our character in the cosmic chessboard of life, dont think too much about it and just enjoy the fun of the moment

That's exactly the theme. You either die a normalfag-hating incel or get a crumb of female attention and live long enough to become the cuckold normalfag. It's true

nothing in his head tells him not to sleep with or party with Hermine. They stay together all they way until Pablo's theater of mirrors. And the wolf/harry illusion is shattered very early on in the book

>nothing in his head tells him not to sleep with or party with Hermine
There doesn't need to be anything in his head telling him this. The consequences of his relationship with Hermine (I assume that's the girl, I forgot about her name) are enough for the reader to draw conclusions himself. There's a point where one can go too far following in the footsteps of the woman he loves.

>The consequences of his relationship with Hermine
Hesse never once writes her as a bad person. She sleeps around I guess? But she gets Harry to stop being a debbie downer and lighten up. Hell she sets him up with another woman so its not like she was his trauma dump anyway

I dont think you even finished the book

Why do you need things to be spoonfed to you? I haven't read the book in a while but I'm pretty sure that he ends up killing Hermine , among other things that happen as a consequence of him going along with her shit.

As a promise he made to her or something. She clearly was not mentally stable and he himself was probably pretty miserable at the end of the book. She's also the reason why he met that Jazz musician that was up to no good. I fail to see how one can read the book and not instantly realize this girl is trouble and will absolutely burn everything around her

I just finished it today. Pablo helps harry throughout the story. And the last 5 pages literally spells out who he is. If you cant remember the biggest twist in the book you cant tell me you're trying to be taken seriously

autism is believing "philosophical" is the same as "profound". philosophy ought to cover the entirety of subjective experience

I can't because I have no recollection of him as a character, but if I just read the book I would've called you autistic for not understanding it since the very beginning. Especially because of the ending

Good to know you cannot defend your flimsy argument. I literally forgot most of it and I'm going mostly on how I 'felt' when I read it most of the book and have better argumentation than you (because you have none, you don't think enough to properly put your thoughts down, yet you start arguments anyway)
Now don't reply, stop wasting my time
