>>24515907I don't like pornography, it spoils everything. I loathe it. I tolerate philosophy--as in Plato, and some bits of writing that have a philosophical bend for logic & rhetorical sake. But even though my religion I don't consider a crutch, it feels more like I am simply obliged, in the same way I'm obliged to drink water.
Theology is admittedly quite enjoyable and edifying, the way I see it.
But I do feel an obligation to love wholesomely and not reductively & selfishly. The real reason being that everything second rate is costly and causes chaos. I really have a moralizing and puritanical bend, though it wasn't because I was 'told' exactly. I found out the hard way!
>TL;DR: Philosophy, faith, science, shouldn't always be characterized as a venture that is a crutch. It's what us creatures do. In the same way a dog needs to wag it's tail, or a butterfly needs to feed on some pollen.
