Is there any philosophy about intentionally becoming dumber? I'm starting to believe the more you think and develop self-awareness the more miserable you are.

Think it or don't think it. You already have the regret.

We brought Kierkegaard back but entirely in thought. That Descartes really did solve the whole thing.

Almost every school of meditation seeks to starve the mind to death to bring about all-encompassing emptiness. For every ten pages you read you should meditate five minutes.

Zen will make you too smart for your own good. You steer clear of that.

You can certainly think too much. You should seek to stimulate the other faculties of the mind: emotions, senses, sociability etc. This will give your thinking function a much-needed break.

The less you think and the more you retard self-awareness the more miserable you are.

Its also intresting that when people describe being in a flow state or an optimal state of creation they often say they felt possesed , or they were channeling something other than themselves, or they feel disembodied.

and in some meditative practise its important to attain this kind of state rather than trying to be suprememly self aware.

happiness is a ratio between your mind and the skill in your hands and feet.
people are miserable becuase they are aware of problems that they do not have a solution they feel competent to work on.

Not for becoming dumber mind you, but got overcoming that feeling. The problem is that modernity and its philosophies is hollow, and the strain of fideism and volanturism in the West is negative.

Thatโ€™s called alcohol. But meth makes you think more and your dopamine so wild so actually thinking is not the issue

Plato and Cartesius are both anti-book at least because they posit metaphysical truth as existing within your mind already so you would have no need to read anything. They are sort of anti-knowledge if you think about it like that. Both of them are a complete waste of time.

>philosophy
No, no, no. This is why you're still unhappy. You have to REJECT philosophy of all kinds and embrace the misosophy of the modern age. Stop reading books. Stop seeking wisdom. Go and watch AI generated brainrot slop on Tiktok while you play mobile games. Take frequent breaks to masturbate. Eat nothing that isn't heavily processed. Reject nature and ambition and life. Kill your consciousness and be content.
