Is it worth the money?
Thinking about reading the old testament (already read the new one 10 years ago).
I want to understand orthodoxy better, especially the metaphysic. Already read a lot on early church history, Arianism, the many councils and so on.

So is it worth the time (and money)?

You can't understand Orthodoxy without being an Eastern European peasant, unfortunately.

it's a nkjv translation which is kind of meh(all in youwho for instance) and the notes aren't that great; often just paraphrases. you're better off reading "the orthodox church", "the orthodox way" or "orthodoxy and heterodoxy".

If you need a Bible, then yes. If you need to learn about the faith, then go to church
