Why are you guys so fucking hostile to a man that can read 1600 pages a day? I figured I would be right at home here. It depends on the subject matter ofc. Moby Dick took a month and a half because I had to read every page like 16 times (I counted) before I could understand the damn thing. World War Z, read it in a day. The more complicated the prose, the longer it takes to read. Modern works are usually a snap

If you have to re-read something in your own language to understand it, then the book is out of your range.

I like things out of my range actually. How else are you supposed to learn and stretch your boundaries? Moby Dick was wrote in the late 1800s. Ofc it's going to be difficult

It's only difficult if it's out of your range. Half ass reading books you don't fully understand doesn't make you smarter.

I don't think anyone ever understands a book to completion. The mind necessarily changes between reads, and when it interfaces with the same story again, the resultant combination of mind and book is different. This is all to say that you should seek discourse instead of understanding, since the latter is always a function of time and person.

Why would you brag about something like that? Kudos for reading fast I guess, but it just sounds weird to me. Are you saying that you're better than others cause you can read faster than some other people? I thought reading was to be enjoyed and wasn't a contest of speed.

Sceptical about this page count but whatever. However since you've already admitted to being some form of dyslexic who has to read the same page 10+ times, if you count each reading as a separate page actually hang yourself
