As much as I don't want this, and as much as I want Pierce to go on and write a fantasy book next, this feels like the end of the saga of Darrow and company. But there is so much room for more within the universe it's insane.

All you have to do is put yourself in the shoes of a red, looking at Darrow gallavanting around with his gold skinjob, gold wife, and gold kids, all while proclaiming himself Red Messiah set on liberating all low colors. This self hating ruster set up a government where Golds have to pretend your people are equal, while still mistreating them and harboring the belief that they're better. The issue with the Republic and it looking down on "Gold Supremacy", is that the golds ARE SUPERIOR. Anatomically, biologically, in terms of beauty, etc

I want to see a book where a red tracks down Mickey, and gets Darrow's surgery, but keeps his red features. And then what would happen if they streamlined it, making it so you might not almost die in the process. What if they started selling it? Hosting gladiator matches where roided up Reds take on Pixie golds in fights to the death in order to break the stigma of golds being better? Would be interesting.

A major theme of the entire series is that united we stand, divided we fall. Especially in light bringer, but it's been around since the first book with things like golds engineering every colour to be divided internally (I.E reds having gammas and obsidians being dissuaded from physical contact).

One of the worst parts of the series is how rushed the Sevro and Victra romance was. One day Sevro was over Quinn and hitting on Victra, just some shit darrow was noticing in the background, and next thing we know they're getting married. like huh?

Pierce did a better job building up the romance between alexander and rhonna, two periphery characters, than he did with Sevro and Victra.
