Jan 6 was a deep state honeypot, it was meant to look like a "cool fun coup" to right wingers who were supposed to take the bait like "hell yeah I'll do a coup lmao." What Jan 6 reveals about the deep state is actually shocking: it reveals that it actually believes the CNN/MSNBC shit about MAGA republicans being crazy right wingers, near to the furthest extent of what it means to be right wing at all. Anyone with historical sense would know that MAGA is a limp-dicked populist movement with right wing POTENTIAL, at most. Jan 6 revealed that the deep state's political imaginary is very impoverished, and when real scary shit actually arrives it won't know what the hell to do with it.
I would not want to be in America when a real Jan 6 happens. They were so ready for a clampdown, show trials, etc. When the real thing happens it'll be a fucking mess and they'll probably escalate it unnecessarily by provoking the mob. America is very unstable and its existing elites are too stupid to manage the instability even to their own benefit.
Vance is even more interesting because he was meant to be "Trump but with Reagan polish and manageability" and was grown in a lab by Thiel types. But he's already behind the times. He might get elected or something but what MAGA really WAS has already surpassed him and bypassed him, it's already searching for its Huey Longs and so forth. JD Vance is a test tube baby, he can't have the charisma that the nascent American populist left/right synthesis is silently calling out for.
