Capitalism is literally destroying everything but there's nothing we can do because the cancer has metastasized. I honestly think we're doomed as a species.

Everyone knows capitalism is bad. Whether you're right or left, old or young, stupid or smart, you feel it in the marrow of your bones.

>And yet I will venture to believe that in no time, since the beginnings of Society, was the lot of those same dumb millions of toilers so entirely unbearable as it is even in the days now passing over us. It is not to die, or even to die of hunger, that makes a man wretched; many men have died; all men must die,โ€”the last exit of us all is in a Fire-Chariot of Pain. But it is to live miserable we know not why: to work sore and yet gain nothing; to be heart-worn, weary, yet isolated, unrelated, girt-in with a cold-universal Laissez-faire: it is to die slowly all our life long, imprisoned in a deaf, dead, Infinite Injustice, as in the accursed iron belly of a Phalaris' Bull! This is and remains forever intolerable to all men whom God has made. Do we wonder at French Revolutions, Chartisms, Revolts of Three Days? The times, if we will consider them, are really unexampled.

MacIntyre converted to Catholicism in part because he realized religion is the only thing strong enough to defeat capitalism.

It killed communism and it'll kill capitalism, too. Just you wait.

Opposing capitalism is like opposing electricity, you're just against what works because of muh feels.

Even "right-wing" critics of capitalism just regurgitate the same arguments 1970s Western socialists were using.

That book is great. You have been filtered.

Free enterprise plays an important role in society. It is not what society should revolve around. That is the common good. The common good is not just aggregate or average consooomption. It is not people getting maximize whatever appetites they just so happen to already possess due to growing up in our vice-addled hellscape.

The appeal of Christ outlasted monarchism, nationalism, and communism. It will outlast capitalism and liberalism. The small scale Catholic/Orthodox confessional polis, organized into confederations for mutual aid and defense, is the future, or at least the successful one. It will be technofeudalism for most unfortunately.

I've never read those guys but it's an observable fact. Wealth creates comfort, comfort destroys the human spirit. It's why the birth rates are down in developed and developing countries. They reached certain level of comfort. One of the reasons people had children was because they provided labor but now children are essentially a luxury in the current economy. Among other things. Now with AI spreading like cancer... the future will be absolutely gay and artificial.

you either want to be a slave to financial parasitism or you don't.
socialism is necessary to reign in the rentiers, and also to stop cheap labor replacement migration.

A valid argument, as we can see from God holding them accountable and punishing them IRL right now.
