INFORMATION HAZARD
Infohazard (information hazard/cognitohazard) literature: books that fuck you up just by reading them. Post stories, authors, recommendations, warnings.

info hazards are real but they are only information that is strictly detrimental to the achievement of your goals. this usually being done by increasing belief in futility, increasing fear/anxiety, or "taking up space" by a connection to something that you dont fully understand that takes up your mind, aka "roadblock" that should be dealt with before regular goals can be resumed.
TMP is not one of those for me.

dogshit meme. Even if it was believable somehow, development of intelligence is a field of literally our own architecture, to be solved by good design principles. But ridiculously retarded and i wish i would never see this waste of text on /lit/ again, but maybe you are meming.

the only books worth reading are the ones that you can't fully understand I think. besides, how would you differentiate between "regular goals" and these warped goals, considering that all of our desire is constructed by the external world? you just pick the ones you grew up with?

strictly detrimental roadblocks are those that have no solution. In my mind i cannot easily categorize something as such because of course how do we know the nature of what we dont understand and if we dont how could we now if its useful for achieving our ideals/desires.
as for picking desires, I don't know. I know what I find beautiful, what i love, and I know i didn't choose to be born and i will stand with myself even if the whole world stands against me. What you choose to be important to you, i don't know. I think if anyone knew how humans should value anything with unarguable certainty, we wouldn't be discussing what you should learn and how things might be for so long.

That sounds like a nice way to look at it. Personally I kind of like all the unending philosophical discussions, science problems and such, all it means to me is that something in society remains alive. I think every book I love has probably shifted my perception of the world, and therefore some of my goals, at least a bit.

the feeling of discovery, the enlargening of my world which feels so small, is part of why creation and creativity is something i will try to foster if i become god. However, there are most certainly things to be eliminated if not in the proper context.

It was Phenomenology for me at first. I read Maurice-Merleau Ponty on audio book once and got visited by this guy when I drifted off to sleep

>According to some demonologists of the 16th century, August is the month during which this demon's attacks against man are stronger. According to Sebastien Michaelis, he is a demon of the First Hierarchy, who seduces by means of laziness, self-doubt, and rationalized philosophies. His adversary is St. Bartholomew, who can protect against him for he has resisted Astaroth's "temptations". To others, he teaches mathematical sciences and handicrafts, can make men invisible and lead them to hidden treasures, and answers every question formulated to him. He was also said to give to mortal beings the power over serpents.

"Schizophrenia" is just a term used to pathologize those whose narratives are inconvenient to the current paradigms. Your average flat earther or reptilian-obsessed "schizo" is no more delusional than your average neoclassical economist or Dispensationalist Evangelical.

are you kidding me dude? this is a stupid as fuck opinion. schizophrenics will believe that the government is communicating to them through their stuffed animals and then threaten to kill their mom, you're fucking retarded

Based. Schizophrenics are intune with primordial psychic forms and forces we evolved to filter out. Sure, the physical symptomatic display is unseamly to normative humanoids, but schizoanalysis is intriguing.

I enjoy the idea that there is a long spanning war between socio/psychopaths and schizophrenics (old copy pasta):

"There is a silent war happening between Psychopaths and Schizophrenics. We know that the population numbers are very small for both groups, however one group is more likely to become CEOs (psychopaths) and the other is more likely to become homeless (schizos). This is because schizos are good at pattern recognition, and can notice the psychos. Normies are incapable of seeing psychopaths in front of them, and psychos relish and dominate because of this. Schizos are able to know them on an instinctual level and suss them out in a way that normies never could. Thus there is a constant demoralization campaign against schizos from the tyrant psychos, who seek to use the population against their greatest natural enemy."

>schizophrenics will believe that the government is communicating to them through their stuffed animals and then threaten to kill their mom
Neoclassical economists tell the government that the "graphs" (which have no evidence for actually reflecting reality) say they need to not prevent the thousands of starvation and homelessness deaths every year. Dispensationalist Protestants believe the Bible (or rather, their shoddy, dual-covenant distortion of Biblical teaching) is telling them to send billions to Israel so they can wipe out the Palestinians, even if those billions of dollars could be used to feed people at home. The socially-unacceptable delusion may cause a single murder, while the socially-acceptable delusion routinely commits mass murder.

Wouldn't the schizophrenics' tendency to notice psychopathy everywhere and unseamly symptomatic displays already contribute to their demorilization and low social status? Why would you need to add a targeted campaign against them to explain it?
>>24597739
Those economists and Protestants are deluded, but they don't display the range of symptoms used in diagnosing schizophrenia.
