Explorer lit thread again
Post more explorer lit since old thread was archived. I love this travelogue of a German among cannibals a lot.

https://www.jrbooksonline.com/HTML-docs/staden%20part%201.htm

I think I would like to try human flesh were it among a people whose custom it was.

Post any list of European explorers in uncharted lands.

Oh and there's probably a lot of crossover with anthropology in some respects with some of these books

These two are basically opposite stories of getting stranded during a polar expedition highlighting the difference between the prevailing occidental and oriental spirits in times of near certain doom and extreme hardship.

‘Mair Humane’, the God of the Tupinamba Indians has a backstory which has a very strange ancient aliens sort of ring to it, yet I haven’t seen this discussed anywhere online.

>>>THE men have a bare space on the head with a circle of hair round it like a monk. I asked them frequently from what they took this fashion, and they told me that their forefathers had seen it on a man called Meire Humane, who had worked many miracles among them, and this man is supposed to have been a prophet or one of the Apostles. {77}

‘Mair Humane’ was a prophet who had several distinct features

>a head which had long hair on the sides but entirely bald on the top, strongly resembling the Norwood 7 balding phase common in European males

The hairstyle is depicted on the man in left in pic related

Mair Humane also
>traveled across the region performing many miracles and curing diseases

This story sounds like an advanced European time traveler or something or even just a Christian miracle worker like the kind you see among evangelical sects. The story is really strange to me, his general appearance along with his powers. I am surprised that soultrean/ ancient alien/ European pre-Colombian contact people have never really latched onto it before.
