i just learnt about greg egan and his terrific body of work
this guy has to be the greatest sci-fi author alive and there isn't even a single picture of him on the internet? what the hell?

Not really.

He has a daring and original imagination with a strong mathematical element, but ultimately it's decor for his rather dull and reddit bugman convictions that he absolutely cannot keep out of his book.

Read enough of him and you'll first begin to notice, and then get tired of persistent obsessions

Quarantine is probably his best work because he tries to lampoon noir detective dystopia and fails because the outcome ends up being sincerely original.

Also the handling of geas thing is so neat I loved it.
