I'm no Marxist, but at least Mao understood that the poor rural population had the best chance of overthrowing capitalism, and revolutionaries in the Philippines and Nepal followed this model to great success (at least in comparison to other post-Cold-War Marxists). The Western Maoists are too blinded by race to actually organize the groups with any capability to revolt.

The work of ML's is inherently about collaborating with your community and working with what you have to build something better.
