I decided to pick up some stuff on the Byzantine Empire, one by classical scholar Anthony Kaldellis and another one by Judith Herrin, is there any other perspectives on the period worth checking out? Thanks in advance.

Paul Magdalino is a must, his work on Manuel I. is a classic
(Kaldellis had him on his podcast - Byzantium and Friends, but I assume you are already familiar)

Volume IV of Gibbon. I'm reading it right now.
I plan to read Graves' Count Belisarius next, for fun and a different perspective.

FOMENKO
99% of what you read on so-called Byzantine Empire will be inaccurate because of Orthodoxophobic Hellenophobic conspiracy of Western so-called historians really pseudographers
Only with Orthodox historians we see some of the truth but Fomenko finally sorted it out - sections on Eastern Roman Empire are some of his strongest so must be read before anything else

>Hellenophobic conspiracy
The Romans were much more guilty of that than anyone else. No-one referred to themselves as a H*llene unless they were pagan or, as later on, a nationalist-tard.
