>>24627972 (OP)I am a brown fascist for the sake of aesthetics and contrarianism. I don't "care" about what academic cunts are saying.
>>24627972 (OP)If you want a short introduction to Fascism, you're better off reading The Origins and Doctrine of Fascism by Gentile. It's a fairly short read, but it gives a look into the actual origins and objectives of the ideology.
Better use of your time than reading a summary written for college students.

Here’s a clear and concise breakdown of the main points from Kevin Passmore’s Fascism: A Very Short Introduction:
---
Key Themes and Highlights
1. The Paradox at Fascism’s Core: Revolutionary Yet Reactionary
Passmore illustrates how fascism embodies both extremes—its revolutionary zeal clashes with its hostility toward socialism and its own violence, even as it denounces the bourgeoisie for “softness.”
2. Opening with Vivid Scenes
He introduces the topic through striking historical vignettes: a clandestine Iron Guard meeting, Mussolini’s audience with the King, Hungarian doctors lobbying against Jewish professionals, and the horrific massacre by Reserve Police Battalion 101 in Poland.
3. Origins and Historical Context
Tracing fascism's roots to crises in late 19th-century Europe, the book examines the rise of fascist regimes in Italy and Germany, as well as "failed" movements in Romania, Hungary, and Spain.
4. Propaganda, Culture, and Global Spread
Passmore explores how fascist regimes used mass culture and propaganda to shape public sentiment—and highlights how fascist ideas spread beyond Europe, reaching Latin America via fleeing Nazis and Spaniards.
5. Fascism in the Contemporary Context
In more recent editions, he addresses the far right’s resurgence in countries like Austria, Italy, France, and Russia.
6. Diverse Lenses of Analysis
Rather than settling on a single definition, Passmore examines several theoretical approaches—from Marxist interpretations to Weberian and ultranationalist perspectives—each shedding light on different aspects of fascism’s contradictions. He emphasizes that no single theory can fully capture its complexity.
7. Intersectional Explorations: Race, Class, Gender
Dedicated chapters analyze how fascist movements engaged with issues of race, class, and gender:
Race: Focus on exclusionary policies and racial definitions.
Class: Fascism appealed to various social groups through corporatism or repression.
Gender: Often deeply patriarchal, defining roles for men and women within state ideology.
8. Reflections on the Term “Fascism” Today
Passmore warns against casually labeling modern far-right groups as “fascist.” While comparisons may sometimes hold, he argues that doing so can obscure the unique elements of both historical fascism and contemporary movements.
---
In Summary
Dual nature: Fascism is both a radical and reactionary force.
Historical depth: Richly framed with historical episodes and broad geographies.
Analytical nuance: Evaluates multiple interpretations without over-simplifying.
Modern relevance: Encourages rigorous thinking about current extreme-right phenomena.
>>24627972 (OP)>But of all nations, the Jew hated Rome the most, and even today, the favorite epithet of the Jew for his opponent is "fascist". What does the word "fascist" mean? It refers to the fasces, or rodsbound together, which the Roman jurist carried to implement his punishment of the wrong-doer. It means simply the rule of law, that is, gentile law, as opposed to the bloodthirsty Jewish Law of Moses.

Some guy told me that they don't have the highest standards for publishing (author wise). As long as the author of that book is actually a well educated and acknowledged person in that field you shouldn't have a problem.
I did did Michael Inwood on Heidegger and it was decent.
Roger Scruton on Beauty will be read later.
