Paradise Lost
I know I'm supposed to focus on the jerk or whatever. So it's told that I'm to believe he's such and such a figure of milton's mastery in depicting the devil in some positive light and that the one who gnashes his teeth is so sympathetically treated and always they fellate the rebellious mook according to Bloom's canon, or whoever came up with thinking of him as some positively lit character.
What instead I bear line after line is the demons getting the shit kicked out of them in what can only be described as the greatest action style ever developed. This is like reading a comic book, or someone talented play an elden ring no-hit run. These guys may be corrupting man moderately successfully but they stand no chance against angels, they weren't even tired after the quashed rebellion, no. No this should be held as a triumph for how creatively Milton depicted these guys getting their asses utterly kicked.
