Absolutely do not do this to yourself. You will want to kill yourself because of how awful your classmates are and how often profs are required to speak to the lowest common denominator. Take linguistics instead, Concordia has a great program. It has its issues too but mostly because there’s professional/personal beef between certain profs.

Powell is a great prof but a grating personality. Yeager is subtle and soft-spoken, tends to glide over student bullshit rather than challenge it. I’m interested to see that you have both of the departments medievalists right of the bat, good stuff. If you like History of the English Language with Powell, you will also like linguistics. See if you can still pick up LING 200 (into) or 203 (chomskian method I think) this semester, often they have a seating of 200 students.

One last thing then because I neglected to tackle the “making friends” angle. Have you seen the Concordia subreddit during the regular school year? Half the posts are people bitching about how hard it is to make friends. It’s a downtown campus, not a lot of collegial spirit. If you can muster up the courage to talk to classmates, that’s great, if you can also figure out who’s down to hang. Being older than the average student isn’t going to help matters here: you may be autistic and poorly adjusted but young zoomers don’t seem to have frontal lobes at all. My advice is to join a club, so long as it isn’t CASE or the CSU.
